Cookies
A cookie is a small piece of information sent to your browser when you access a website. This Site only uses session cookies, consisting of text stored in your computer’s temporary memory. Because a session cookie is never written to your computer’s hard drive, it is deleted as soon as you close your browser.
Do Not Track
When you visit a website (such as Max Planck Florida’s Site), your browser automatically shares certain information with that website, such as your IP address and other device information. Today, many browsers offer Do Not Track plugins that allow you to express a preference that you not be tracked, and that tell websites that you visit, by sending an electronic beacon, this preference. At this time, Max Planck Florida’s Site does not respond to Do Not Track beacons sent by browser plugins.
Children’s Privacy
We do not use the Site to knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of thirteen (13), nor is this Site directed at children. By using the Site, you represent that you are age thirteen (13) or over. If you are a child under thirteen (13) years of age, you are not permitted to use the Site and should not send any information about yourself to us through the Site. If you believe that a child may have provided his or her information to us, please contact us using the information at the end of this Policy. In the event that we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of thirteen (13), we will dispose of that information immediately.
International Visitors
Max Planck Florida is located in the United States. If you are not a resident of the United States, your country’s laws governing data collection and use may differ from those in the United States; in particular, the United States may not provide the same level of protections as those in your own country. Where we have your explicit consent, we rely on that consent to the transfer, retention, and processing of such data in the United States. Otherwise, such transfer into the United States is permissible pursuant to contracts that comply with relevant data protection laws and regulations.
