The neural capacity to decode changes in daylength and accordingly adjust behavior is vital to survival and well-being, yet underlying mechanisms remain elusive. I will present a previously unknown brain circuit and novel system of axon branch-specific and reversible neurotransmitter deployment that together prove critical for behavioral and sleep adaptation to daylength changes.
