Deep learning tools for the analysis of animal behaviors
Mackenzie Mathis
2020
Recent advances in computer vision have made accurate, fast and robust measurement of animal behavior a reality. In the
past years powerful tools specifically designed to aid the measurement of behavior have come to fruition (Mathis & Mathis 2020). Here, I will discuss the development of our deep learning toolbox, called DeepLabCut. Then I will show how we use DeepLabCut in conjunction with two photon calcium imaging to explore how movements are encoded in cortical circuits during skilled motor learning tasks.
